Current Perspectives on Health Sciences Research is a publication of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University.
Our journal is aimed at conveying current developments in health sciences in Turkey and other countries of the world, disseminating original scientific studies at national and international levels, and contributing to science by publishing high-quality publications of scientific importance.
Current Perspectives on Health Sciences, academic, scientific and research-based articles (research articles, reviews, case reports, letters to the editor) on emergency aid and disaster management, nutrition and dietetics, biology, child development, speech and language therapy, midwifery, ergotherapy, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, genetics, nursing, chemistry, audiology, health management, social work, veterinary medicine and other fields of health sciences in English and Turkish are published.
Articles submitted for publication in this journal should be arranged according to the Current Perspectives on Health Sciences Writing Rules prepared on the basis of the "Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical-International Committee of Medical Journal Editors Journals (http://www.icmje.org/icmje-recommendations.pdf" guide).

• Letter to the editor: Articles in which an article published in the journal is discussed and commented on or a response is given to such a letter. It should be a maximum of 400 words. In letters to the editor, the name of the article referred to, the issue and date of publication should be stated, and the name, institution and address information of the person who wrote the letter should be given.
In-Text Writing Rules
• Texts, symbols and other special characters should be written using the "Times New Roman" font, 12 points, 1.5 line spacing, 2.5 cm margins on the page edges and justified.
• Single line spacing should be used in abstracts, tables, figures and references.
• The article must be written in clear and understandable language in Turkish or English.
• All articles should be checked carefully for grammar and spelling.
• Italic, bold or underlined should not be displayed except in necessary cases (bacteria name, in vitro, ad libitum, etc.).
• The TAB key should not be used to separate paragraphs.
• In the paragraph tab, in the indents section, before and after space should be 6 pt (0.6 line).
• There should be no indentation at the beginning of paragraphs.
• Subheadings should be used in articles up to third degree.
• Main headings should be written in bold capital letters and aligned to the left, secondary headings should be written in bold and aligned to the left, with the first letter capitalized, and third-level headings should be written in bold with the first letter capitalized, and then the text should be continued by placing a colon.
• References should be numbered sequentially both within the text and at the end of the article and written in accordance with the "Vancouver" style. More than six authors should be cited as “et al.”
Symbols, Abbreviations and Units of Measurement
In Turkish articles, the Turkish Language Association's writing guide should be used. Turkish words should be used as much as possible instead of foreign words. Explanations of abbreviations should be given where they are first used, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. For International System of Units (SI) abbreviations of measurement units to be used in clinical and laboratory studies, http://jn.nutrition.org/content/120/1/20.full.pdf can be used.
Cover Letter:
The cover letter should include a description of whether the article has been published in any language, including the abstract, and whether the article is being evaluated elsewhere for publication.
Title Page:
A separate title page should be submitted with all submissions and this page should include:
1. The full title of the manuscript as well as a short title of no more than 50 characters (Running title),
2. Name(s), academic degree(s), affiliation(s), email address(es) and ORCID number(s) of the author(s),
3. Name, address, telephone (including the mobile phone number), and email address of the corresponding author,
4. Grant information and detailed information on the other sources of support,
5. Acknowledgment of the individuals who contributed to the preparation of the manuscript but who do not fulfill the authorship criteria.
Important Note: If the work has been previously presented as a poster or verbally, this should be explained in a separate line on the cover page.
Abstract
1. After the title page, Turkish and English abstracts should be written on separate pages. Turkish and English abstracts should contain minimum 100 words and maximum 300 words.
2. In research articles, Turkish and English abstracts should be structured to include "Aim, Materials and Methods, Results and Conclusion" sections. There is no need for a structured summary in reviews and case reports.
3. In abstracts, as few abbreviations as possible should be used, non-standard or rare abbreviations should be avoided and not cited.
4. Turkish and English abstracts should reflect the entire article and should be compatible with each other in terms of content and language.
5. At the bottom of the summary page, minimum 3 and maximum 5 keywords should be entered.
6. Keywords should be written in alphabetical order.
7. Turkish Science Terms list (https://www.bilimterimleri.com/) for Turkish keywords, American National Library of Medicine (NLM / https://www.nlm.nih.gov/) for English keywords The list of Medical Subject Headings (Medical Subject Headings, MeSH / https://meshb.nlm.nih.gov/) should be used.
Introduction
In the introduction section, the status of the research topic should be carefully reviewed and important publications should be cited. Brief information about the subject under investigation should be given along with the current literature. Study results more than necessary should not be given. In the last part of this section, the main and secondary objectives of the research should be clearly stated.
Materials and Methods
In the materials and methods section, information on the type, population and sample of the research, data collection tools and methods used, and statistical analyses should be given in detail. References for known methods should be added. Subheadings such as the type, population and sample of the research, ethics committee approval, data collection tools and methods, statistical evaluation of data can be used in this section.
In research articles, information regarding ethics committee approval (ethics committee name, decision date and decision number) should be included in the method section and on the last page before the references. All research protocols involving human subjects must comply with the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki (Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects updated in October 2013, which is available at https://www.wma.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/DoH- Oct2013-JAMA.pdf). For experimental studies on human subjects, a statement should be added stating that volunteers have signed a written informed consent form containing a detailed explanation of the procedures applied in the research. In experimental animal studies, authors should state that the procedures comply with animal rights stated in the “Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals”, which is available at http://oacu.od.nih.gov/regs/guide/guide.pdf”. In research conducted on animals, it is mandatory to obtain permission from the "Local Ethics Committee for Animal Experiments". In case reports, information about the informed consent form signed by the participants should also be included in the method section. Regarding research conducted on humans or animals, a copy of the Interventional or Non-Interventional Ethics Committee/Commission approval must be sent to the journal.
In research articles, the subheading "Statistical Analysis of Data" should be included at the end of the materials and methods section. All the statistical methods used should be written concisely and clearly. The name and version number of the software used for statistical analysis should be given.
Results
Results presented should be supported by statistical data, appropriate tables, graphs and figures. Results should be explained without any comment, and the data presented in tables and figures should not be given in the main text.
Discussion
In the discussion section, the results of the study should be discussed in the broadest possible context together with the current literature, and the limitations of the study should be emphasized. New and important aspects of the study and conclusions regarding such aspects should be stated.
Conclusion and Recommendations
In this section, the results obtained from the study and related recommendations should be given.
Tables, Figures, Graphics and Images
1. Tables, figures, graphs and images should be added in their own place within the text.
2. The number of tables and/or figures (total) should be at most 6.
3. All tables and figures should be numbered sequentially according to the order of their appearance in the text. Make sure that each table is cited within the text.
4. Tables and figures should be single-spaced, and the title and content should be written in 9-point font.
5. Table and figure titles should be written with the first letter capitalized (e.g. Figure 2) and should not be abbreviated (e.g. Fig. 2).
6. Table and figure numbers should be written in bold color, and table and figure names should be written in normal color. (Example: Table 1. Distribution of individuals)
7. Table names should be written above the table, and figure names should be written below the figure.
8. As table borders, there should only be upper and lower borders and inner border lines where section separations are made. Vertical lines must not be used between columns. Only horizontal lines should be used above and below column headings and at the bottom of the table. (See the “Article Writing Template” at the bottom of the web page and on the Submit Article page)
9. Abbreviations and statistical analyzes in the table should be written clearly at the bottom of the table. Explanations of all abbreviations used in the table should be written in alphabetical order below the table. Abbreviations should be written in italics and 7 point font.
10. Figures and graphics (Photographs) should be saved in JPEG format as 600*600 dpi and sent via the system separately.
Acknowledgement (Optionally)
If thanks are to be given for reasons such as personal, technical and material assistance, it should be included in this section. The names of individuals who contributed to the study but do not meet the authorship criteria can be given. However, the approval of all individuals whose names are mentioned in the acknowledgments section must be obtained. The thank you letter must be added in Turkish and English.
Conflicts of interest
All affiliations with pharmaceutical firms, biomedical device manufacturers, and other service or product procurers (consultation, any other agreement, etc.) relevant to the subject matter of the study should be explicitly indicated on the title page if there is any direct or indirect commercial connection or financial support of the institution in the article. Also, if there is a conflict of interest between the authors, this should be indicated. Academic commitments, personal relationships, political, financial, or institutional connections are types of conflicts of interest that should be disclosed. Editors consider conflicts of interest between author(s), referees and other editors and ensure that studies complete the publication process independently and impartially. If there is no conflict of interest, "The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest." and “The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest.” statements should be added.
Author contributions
For articles with more than one author, a declaration of the authors' contribution rate should be included.

Financial support
If there is financial support, the names of the funds or organizations supporting the study should be written. It is the authors' responsibility to declare this situation. In studies supported by research projects (BAP, BAKA, European Union, TUBITAK, etc.), the project name, number, and supporting institution/organization must be stated. If no financial support has been received, "The authors declare that they have not received any financial support." and “The authors declare that they received no financial support.” statements should be added.
References
1. References should be from recent years and written in accordance with the "Vancouver" style.
2. References should be numbered sequentially both within the text and at the end of the article.
3. References should be indicated in the text with Arabic numbers at the end of the sentence and in parentheses. (for example; …….they stated that there is no difference (35) or (3, 4) or (17-21)).
4. If the number of authors is 6 or less, the names of all authors should be written. If there are more than 6, the first 6 authors should be written and the others should be written as "et al." in Turkish sources. In English sources, “et al.” should be specified as .

Journal of Current Perspectives on Health Sciences is committed to the highest standards in publication ethics and adopts the principles developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE); recommends following the following guidelines on the subject. Below are the ethical duties and responsibilities.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
• Statements and opinions presented in the CPHS are the responsibility of the author(s). The authors are responsible for ensuring that the text meets the scientific language and the research's ethical requirements. The author team should consider the standard practice guidelines in line with the research methods, and the text should be presented in an appropriate flow (such as CONSORT for randomized controlled studies, PRISMA for systematic review, and meta-analyses studies). The edited main text should meet all the necessary conditions during the first submission. Within the framework of the journal's writing rules, the necessary sections, titles, and information in the references should be presented without the names of the authors and institutions in a way that does not violate the principle of anonymity of the text.
• Articles submitted for publication must be original, have not been previously published as a full-text paper or article at any congress, and must not have been sent to a different journal at the same time for evaluation. The authors have accepted this at the application stage, and if it is determined otherwise, all responsibility belongs to the authors. All articles that do not comply with ethical standards are removed from publication.
• The similarity rate of the text scanned with the plagiarism program, excluding sources, should not be over 20%.
• Conflict of interest; If there is a direct or indirect commercial connection or institution providing financial support in the article, the authors; It should state on the title page that it has no commercial relationship with the commercial product, drug or company used, and if so, what kind of relationship it has (consultant, other agreements). Additionally, if the author has a conflict of interest, this should be disclosed. Types of conflicts of interest expected to be disclosed include academic commitments, personal relationships, political, financial or corporate affiliations.
• CPHS is a journal that has adopted the principle of complying with the ethical standards of the Committee on Human Experimentation of the 1975 Declaration of Helsinki, which was revised in 2013. Accordingly, authors must have documentation proving that they have the right to use the data, that they have obtained the necessary permissions for research and analysis, or that consent has been obtained from the individuals from whom they collected data. Institutional permission and local or national ethics committee approval letters for original research articles submitted for publication in CPHS must be uploaded to the system.
• Authors should contact the journal editor or publisher if they notice any inaccuracies or errors regarding the work that has been published, in early appearance, or in the evaluation process.
• Changing author responsibilities such as adding authors, changing the author order, or removing authors cannot be proposed in studies whose evaluation process has begun.
• During the evaluation process, raw data regarding the article may be requested from the author, and the author must be ready to present this data to the editorial board and scientific committee.
Ethical Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for every publication published in CPHS. In this context, editors undertake the following roles and responsibilities:
• Making efforts to meet the information needs of readers and writers,
• Continuously ensuring the development of the journal,
• Carrying out processes to improve the quality of studies published in the journal,
• Supporting freedom of thought,
• Ensuring academic integrity,
• Continuing business processes without compromising intellectual property rights and ethical standards,
• Demonstrate openness and transparency in terms of publication on issues that require correction and clarification.
Relations with Readers:
Editors should make their decisions by taking into account the knowledge, skills and experience expectations of all readers, researchers and practitioners. Care should be taken to ensure that published studies contribute to readers, researchers, practitioners and scientific literature and are original. In addition, editors are obliged to take into account the feedback from readers, researchers and practitioners and to give descriptive and informative feedback.
Relations with Authors:
Editors assume the following roles and responsibilities towards authors:
• Editors must make positive or negative decisions based on the importance of the studies, their original value, validity, clarity of expression, and the aims and objectives of the journal.
• Studies that are suitable for the scope of publication should be taken to the preliminary evaluation stage unless there are serious problems.
• Editors should not ignore positive referee suggestions unless there is a serious problem with the study.
• New editors should not change the decisions made by the previous editor(s) regarding the studies unless there is a serious problem.
• "Double-Blind Referee and Evaluation Process" must be published and editors must prevent any deviations that may occur in the defined processes.
• Authors should be notified and responded to in a descriptive and informative manner.
Relations with Referees:
Editors undertake the following roles and responsibilities towards referees:
• Referees should be determined in accordance with the subject of the study.
• It is responsible for providing the information and guides that the referees will need during the evaluation phase.
• It is necessary to consider whether there is a conflict of interest between authors and referees.
• In the context of blind arbitration, the identity information of the referees must be kept confidential.
• It should encourage referees to evaluate the work in an impartial, scientific and objective language.
• It should determine practices and policies that increase the performance of referees.
• Necessary steps should be taken to dynamically update the referee pool.
• It should prevent unkind and unscientific evaluations.
• Steps should be taken to ensure that the referee pool consists of a broad spectrum.
Relations with the Editorial Board:
Editors must ensure that all editorial board members follow the publication policies and guidelines. The editorial board must inform its members about publication policies and keep them informed of developments. Also editors;
• Editorial board members must ensure that they evaluate the work impartially and independently.
• New editorial board members must be determined to be able to contribute and have appropriate qualifications.
• Editorial board members should submit studies that are appropriate to their areas of expertise for evaluation.
• Must interact with the editorial board regularly.
• It should organize meetings with the editorial board at regular intervals for the development of publication policies and the journal.
Relations with the Journal Owner and Publisher:
The relationship between editors and publisher is based on the principle of editorial independence. In accordance with the written agreement between the editors and the publisher, all decisions taken by the editors are independent of the publisher and the journal owner.
Editorial and double-blind peer review processes: Editors ensure that peer review in journals is fair, impartial and timely. Editors ensure that material submitted to their journal remains confidential during review. Editors are responsible for implementing the "Blind Review and Evaluation Process" policies included in the publication policies.
Quality Assurance: Editors are responsible for ensuring that every article published in the journal is published in accordance with the journal publication policies and international standards.
Protection of Personal Data: Editors are obliged to ensure the protection of personal data regarding the subjects or images included in the evaluated studies. Unless the explicit consent of the individuals used in the studies is documented, it is the duty to refuse the study. Also editors; is responsible for protecting the individual data of authors, referees and readers.
Ethics Committee, Human and Animal Rights: Editors are obliged to ensure that human and animal rights are protected in the evaluated works. Ethics committee approval regarding the subjects used in the studies is responsible for rejecting the study in cases where there is no permission for experimental research. Ethics committee approval is not required for review studies.
Precautions Against Possible Abuse and Misconduct: Editors are obliged to take precautions against possible abuse and misconduct. In addition to conducting a meticulous and objective investigation to identify and evaluate complaints regarding this situation, sharing the relevant findings is among the editor's responsibilities.
Ensuring Academic Publication Integrity: Editors must ensure that errors, inconsistencies or misleading judgments in studies are quickly corrected.
Protection of Intellectual Property Rights: Editors are obliged to protect the intellectual property rights of all published articles and to defend the rights of the journal and the author(s) in case of possible violations. In addition, editors are obliged to take the necessary precautions to ensure that the contents of all published articles do not violate the intellectual property rights of other publications.
Constructivism and Openness to Discussion: Editors should take into account convincing criticisms of the works published in the journal and display a constructive attitude towards these criticisms. The author(s) of the criticized works should be given the right to reply. One should not ignore or exclude studies containing negative results.
Complaints: Editors are obliged to carefully examine complaints from authors, referees or readers and respond in an enlightening and explanatory manner.
The ethical responsibilities of reviewers
Evaluation of all studies with "Double-Blind Review" directly affects the quality of the publication. This process provides confidence through an objective and independent evaluation of the publication. The evaluation process of the Journal of Current Perspectives on Health Sciences is carried out with the principle of a double-blind review system. Reviewers can not directly communicate with authors, evaluations, and comments are submitted through the journal management system. In this process, reviewer comments on evaluation forms and full texts are forwarded to the author(s) through the editor. In this context, it is expected that the reviewers who evaluate the studies for the Journal of Current Perspectives on Health Sciences have the following ethical responsibilities:
• Only work related to the area of expertise should accept evaluation.
• Evaluation should be done with unbiased and confidentiality.
• If the reviewer thinks the reviewer is facing a conflict of interest during the evaluation process, the reviewer should refuse to review the study and inform the journal editor.
• By the confidentiality principle, they should destroy the studies they have examined after the evaluation process.
• They can only use the final versions of the studies they have reviewed after they are published.
• Make the evaluation objectively only in relation to the content of the study.
• Nationality, gender, religious beliefs, political beliefs, and commercial concerns should not affect the evaluation.
• Make the assessment in constructive and courteous language. Do not make derogatory personal comments that include hostility, slander, and insults.
• They should perform the work they accept to evaluate in a timely manner and with the above ethical responsibilities.
The ethical responsibilities of publisher's
Journal of Current Perspectives on Health Sciences Editors and Editorial Board act with the awareness of the following ethical responsibilities:
• Editors are responsible for all processes of studies submitted to the Journal of Current Perspectives on Health Sciences. In this context, the decision-makers are the editors, regardless of economic or political gains.
• It undertakes to create an independent editorial decision.
• Journal of Current Perspectives on Health Sciences protects the property and copyright of every article published and undertakes to keep a record of every published copy.
• It has the responsibility to take precautions against all kinds of scientific abuse, citation fraud, and plagiarism regarding the editors.

Article Withdrawal Process
Articles submitted to our journal cannot be withdrawn after the referee process has started or because they have been sent to another journal. Authors can withdraw their articles for which the referee process has not been initiated by contacting the journal editors. Unless the retraction request is approved by the editorial board, authors cannot send their articles to another journal for evaluation.
Reporting Situations That Do Not Comply with Ethical Principles
Everyone involved in the article publishing process agrees in advance to comply with these rules.
